The box is made of 3/4″ Northern White Pine and is 20″ X 91/4″ X 11″. Top is 3/4″ MDO Plywood with feeder hole and dado to help keep from sliding off when being moved. Nuc box has a screen bottom and 3/4″ blocks including the landing board in front for ventilation. A small piece of wedge shaped Pine comes with hive to seal front entrance when moving or to reduce the entrance.The nuc holds 5 standard 9″ Deep frames and foundations (not included). Boxes are assembled and ready for a coat of paint or stain to ensure years of service. All of our boxes are made in the USA by us with American White Pine. The boxes were designed for making splits especially when a Deep Castle (5 Frame Deep) is used on top or for a swarm box.
