2021 Honeybee Mated Queen Carniolan Carnica Hybrid “Northern” climate (Limited Quantity) Authentic “Northern” climate Carniolan Hybrid /VSH (Veroa sensitive hygienic) Open mated . This line of breeders came directly from Sue Cobey as a result from her work overseas, collecting and importing pure Carniolan / Carnica drone semen back into the United States and then breeding back on generations from that collected semen until she obtained the purest line of Carnica possible. I special ordered our original breeder queen to be Slovenian Carnica lineage. We graft only from gentle, non-aggressive mother queens with best honey production. New World Carniolan/ Slovenian “Carnica” traits.Another very important aspect I look for when I select my grafting queens is their ability to overwinter in our cold climate. We live in Iowa, harsh winter weather is experienced throughout much of the Midwest. Our queens are selected based on their overwintering ability, fast spring buildup, excellent honey production and rapid spring comb building. Every queen is mated, inspected and checked for laying before it is shipped.
