Pine Screened IPM Bottom Board For 10 Frame Hive The IPM (Integrated Pest Management) screened bottom board is a non-chemical way of pest control. This type board increases brood production and reduces varroa mite counts by allowing varroa mites to fall through the screen. 12-gauge 1/8” galvanized steel mesh for the screened center Allows better monitoring of varroa mite infestation levels. The bottom board comes fully assembled using Titebond glue and 1.5 inch 1/4″ crown galvanized staples. The corrugated insert should be used for mite counts and when it gets cold to help the bees keep the hive warm. Remove the corrugated plastic insert during the summer months to maximum air flow. You can also sprinkle lime dust on the insert to instantly kill hive beetles when the the bees chase the hive beetles through the screen. Pine is the most popular wood for making beehives. All of my wooden-ware is made to exacting specifications in my state-of-the-art workshop. This is the best bottom board you can buy for your hive!!!
