No middle man and you are supporting a local family farm to stay in business and thank you! *Grain is field dried and harvested in mid Oct. When harvested grain is 11-12% moisture and ideal for storage. Anything greater than 15% for long term storage could be a problem. *I send germination samples to a local university to have a germ sample taken. This years crop is testing 96-98% germination. Folks want to know as they use for sprouting and need as many to grow! *Heat and humidity ruin soybean quality and germ. Ideal storage is a cool, dry environment. Completely air tight container for long periods maybe not the best for storage as grain does contain some moisture. *Soybean seed size of this years crop is running around 2400 seeds/lb. *Soybeans used for tofu for example if grain is stored well can keep longer than a year or two. If used for sprouting germ will keep well for about a year and then drop to around 60% into the second year and 40% into the third year. So, as long as germ starts high and tested, is planted within a year and storage conditions are ideal will be fine for sprouting.
