These can be used to give a quick late autumn feed, or at any other time for that matter.This design has no mesh feeder hole to get clogged up with ‘indestructable propolis’. Instead , the feeder incorporates ample perforations which can be comparatively easily cleared (with something like the end of a ballpoint pen) at the end of the season ready for storage and re-use. NOTE: A variety of feeds can be used in for your bees. Personally, I use a water/sugar ratio of one pint-to-one-Kilo for a winter feed, and two pint-to-one-kilo for spring and summer boosts. A few words of advice – After you have filled your feeder, upturn it several feet from your hive as a couple of tablespoons of syrup will escape before the ‘vacuum effect’ takes effect, then carefully lower directly over your crown board hole.
