I got tired of hot gluing popsicle sticks into the foundation grooves so I built a mold to make starter strips that simply press into the groove sans glue. They have little buttons on the tabs to hold them in place in any 3/16″ grooved top bar, they fit other frames as well as the ones I make. They are made from food grade HIPS and look like new drawn comb so maybe they will trick the ladies. They come in packs of 100, the cell size is 5.2mm and are non waxed. Made in U.S.A. at my friend’s factory in Anaheim California. UPDATE: Here are some pics of the swarm I got Feb 26, they have already half filled all the frames in nuc, I used 3 waxed starter strips and wired each one. I went with 3 starter strips and used fishing line for the horizontal wires. I put one frame in each of 4 hives about a week ago. Did a peek today and they all were building on them.
