Hi there! My name is Chris Heston and I am a professional cabinet maker and avid beekeeper. With over 25 years of experience, I created the BEE’S KNEED’S SWARM TRAP, which is professionally crafted, carefully engineered, safe, and an environmentally friendly swarm trap. Let me tell you more… Professional Craftsmanship I hand-craft each Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap using traditional principles of cabinet-making. As a result, The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap is one of the most durable traps on the market today, with highend jointery that will protect your bees and allow for years of use. The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap is also designed to hold standard Langstroth/Dadant frames. This makes transferring bees less intrusive, keeps comb damage to a minimum, and preserves your bees’ energy and hard work! Materials are 5/8” exterior rated plywood milled using a CNC router with cabinet joinery for easy assembly. My competitors use cloth, cardboard, or thin plywood with staples and no special joinery. The overhanging roof is a sheet of durable polyethylene material. Careful Engineering The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap has a 45+ liter 5-frame capacity. It was purposefully built so that even the largest of bee swarms will feel right at home in the large-volume cavity. The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap measures 22 in. tall, 8.75 in. wide, and 19.75 in. deep. Human Safety and Bee Safety My unique nylon-strap hoist installation system allows users to raise and secure the Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap onto a high tree limb without the use of a ladder and from the safety of the ground. It’s easy! A metal bridle is bolted to The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap so that it can be hoisted into a tree using the nylon strap, and then firmly secured using the same nylon strap. The Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap is one of the safest and healthiest swarm traps for your bees. The mechanically secured top and vented entrance cover allow for safe transport over short and long distances. The nylon-strap hoist installation system allows the trap to be secured high off the ground, where the bees prefer to be! Environmental Friendliness The wood used to craft the Bee’s Kneed’s Swarm Trap is responsibly sourced. My unique nylon-strap hoist installation system eliminates the need to nail or screw the trap into a tree, therefore maintaining the health of your tree(s)! Additional Information Your Bee’s Kneed’s swarm trap kit includes an assembly and user’s guide, predrilled plywood panels, metal bridle, hoisting strap, roof panel, and fasteners. You may also choose to purchase a 1 oz bottle of high-grade lemon grass oil for baiting the trap. Please see the available packages outlined at the top of the listing page.
