The queen bee genetics are a blend of Italian and Carniolan honeybee lines selected for longevity, mild temperament, mite resistance, disease resistance and honey production at Northern latitudes. All of our queen bees ship via USPS Priority Express and we request that customers pick up at the post office to ensure the queens bees arrive in great condition. Queen bees are individually caged and shipped with attendants in a plastic cage with a sugar plug to delay release in an existing hive with bees already present. You must have an existing hive of bees to install the queen, you cannot start a new hive with a queen and a few attendants.
