Here in OKLA, many times the electricity is off when we head to the shelter. This lantern is a great flashlight to get to the shelter and sits on a small table in the shelter, providing light needed inside the shelter. Being solar, it is placed in a window sill, where it is always charged, Maintenance free ( No Batteries!) and ready to go at a moments notice! I put this in the window sill and it charged quickly, I bought this as an emergency light in case of power outage. It’s about the same as a refrigerator light as far as output so it’s not going to light up a room. I bought it to get around the house in the dark, I keep more powerful lights to light up big areas. This one is small and I keep it in a window sill so it’s constantly charged. It’s a great light for its intended purpose. This light is awesome, surprisingly it is extremely bright and it can be used as a flash/spotlight and a lamp. It can be charged via micro USB and the sun. It can also charge your phone!
